WOOSTER — Rhett Clifford Acker, 32, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2016, from injuries received in a silo accident.

He was born June 15, 1984, in Wooster, the son of Max M. and Deborah L. Clifford Acker. He married Lisa Lou Arnold on Feb. 14, 2015. She survives along with 5-month-old daughter, Leah Faye.

Rhett was a 2003 graduate of Triway High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from The Ohio State University in 2007. He was a self-employed hay farmer and a member of the Ripley Church of Christ where he taught Sunday school and Junior Worship school.

He was a member of the Wayne County Farm Bureau, a Springville Country 4-H Club Advisor and a member of the 4-H Building #10 Committee. Rhett and family loved attending county fairs. He was the 2003 Wayne County Fair King. He loved gardening and farming and loved his daughter, Leah Faye. He was known for his blue eyes and big smile.

He was an avid fan of Triway sports, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed raising Boer Goats as well as working with his father on the family farm.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a 5-month-old daughter, Leah Faye Acker; his parents of Wooster; his sisters, Ara (Jeremy) Tabor of Centerburg, Julia (Brandon) Glass of Wooster; his father and mother-in-law, William E. and Lakalynn Bridenstine Arnold of Orrville; his grandmother, Wilma (Ray) Fulk of Lexington; grandmother-in-law, Luella Hahn Arnold of Orrville; and nieces, Jocelyn and Savannah Tabor of Centerburg; a sister-in-law, Lori Lee Arnold of Orrville; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Rhett treasured and greatly valued his work mates, Louis Czibor and Gabe Armstrong.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Abigail Acker; maternal grandfather, Elmer L. Clifford; paternal grandparents, H. Paul and Emmabelle Acker; and grandparents-in-law, Merle Arnold and Milo and Faye Bridenstine.

Friends will be received on Sunday at the Ripley Church of Christ, 12298 County Road 330, Big Prairie, from 2-6 p.m., and 1 hour prior to the time of the service on Monday.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the church with reverends Jeremiah Stivers, Tom Benter and Randy Gehres officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery near Shreve.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, is assisting the family.
