Gladys May Tinney, age 94, of Elgin, OK, formally of Sutton, WV, returned to her beloved West Virginia home for a memorial and interment on Sunday, September 18, 2016.
Born December 27, 1920 in Clay, WV the daughter of the late Okey Johnson and Stella Williams, she passed away on November 01, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Creed W Tinney; sisters Ruth Helen Roe, Rosie Cunningham, Betty Miller and Blanch Lawson; her brother James Johnson; and great-great-grandchild Audrey Taylor.
Gladys was a homemaker and enjoyed farming with her husband. She attended Elizabeth Chapel Church on Bug Ridge near Sutton.
She was survived by her loving daughter and caregiver Janet Carol Cottrill (Glen) of Elgin, OK; sons Robert Tinney of Flatwoods, WV, and Creed Farrell Tinney (Phyllis) of Wadsworth, OH; sister Jean Criss (Delmas) of Birch River, WV; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
