Mr. Jahnke was born in Chicago, Ill., on June 29, 1871. He came to Bakerville and received his education there. After living in Brillion a short time he farmed in the town of Lincoln and then came to Marshfield in 1900 and had lived here since, doing carpenter work.
He married Lena Gessert in 1906 at Bakerville. She preceded him in death May 21, 1928.
He is survived by two sons, Raymond, route 2, Marshfield; Melvin, West Allis; three daughters, Mrs. Agnes Rude, Milwaukee; Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Sommers, Marshfield; Mrs. Louis (Delores) Gehrke, Two Rivers; 14 grandchildren; three brothers, Anthony, Robert, both of Milwaukee; Fred, Marshfield; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Kohl, Milwaukee; Mrs. Axel (Emma) Jensen, Lake Worth, Fla.; Mrs. Al (Sophie) Davies, New Castle, Ind.
One brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
