Stanley W. "Bo" Kerns Sr. 71, of Midland, died at home on Saturday, April 4, 2015 surrounded by family. He was born in Fauquier County on July 3, 1943, a son of Jacob Samuel Kerns and Effie Noland Kerns. Bo was devoted to serving others; he liked driving the ambulance for Cedar Run Rescue Squad and calling bingo. He was a lifetime member of the Catlett Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Charlotte V. Kerns; five children, Denise A. Gray, Stanley W. Kerns Jr., Lisa D. Gager, David L. Kerns and Jennifer Leigh Kerns-Horsman. He also leaves two sisters, Sandra Herndon and Nancy Lee Kirby; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, James Andrew "Billy" Kerns, Samuel Delaney Kerns, Jacob Gary "John" Kerns and Layton " Bobby" Kerns.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 10 until 11 AM at Moser Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 AM. Pastor Freddie Meadows will officiate. Interment to follow at Catlett Cemetery.
