Billy Ray Alexander, Janelle Williams' Story
Funeral services for Mr. Billy Ray Alexander and Mrs. Janelle Williams Alexander will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home of Meridian. Rev. Mike Ragland will be officiating. Burial will be in Duffee Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Alexander, 81, and Mrs. Alexander, 78, both of Little Rock, passed away at their residence on Saturday.
Mr. Alexander was a veteran having served his country in the United States Air Force. He continued his service in the civilian capacity as an aircraft mechanic. He was a very technically minded man who enjoyed working on things as well as exploring how things worked. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Mrs. Alexander retired as an accountant for Rush Healthcare Systems. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Alexander loved working in her flower garden as well as cooking for her family. They both shared the enjoyment of reading and travel.
The love that Mr. and Mrs. Alexander shared was immeasurable. They had just recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.
Survivors include their children, Debra Hayes and husband Donald, Marsha Timms and husband Arthur Sr.; grandchildren, Madeline Hayes, Joshua Timms and wife Katie; great grandchildren, Kalem Timms and Annistyn Timms.
Mr. Alexander is also survived by his brother, R.E. Alexander; and sister, Marie Gilbert. Mrs. Alexander also leaves sisters, Margaret Alawine and husband Paul and Bobbie Gibson and husband Frank.
They were preceded in death by their parents, Ruben Clarence and Dovie Elizabeth Alexander, Algie Robert and Vivian Irene Williams; and grandson, Arthur "A.J." Timms Jr.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
