COLLARD, MR. WILLIAM C. "Bill" (Husband of Pat)

Mr. Bill Collard, age 85, died April 22, 2010. Born October 3, 1924, in Detroit, to Douglas and Dorothy (Abraham) Collard, he had lived in the White Lake area the past 55 years. On August 27, 1949, in Lansing, he married the former Patricia Palmer.


Mr. Collard worked for and retired as branch manager of Comerica Bank in Montague in 1988. Proudly serving in the US Navy during World War II, he was a communicant member of St. James Catholic Church, a member of White Lake VFW Post #3256, had served on the White Lake Chamber of Commerce, and had been a member of and was a past-Treasurer of the Montague-Whitehall Rotary Club. Bill was an avid golfer and had held memberships at Old Channel Trail Golf Course and Lincoln Golf Club.


FAMILY: His wife, Pat; his children, Christine (Randy) DeKuiper of Hesperia, Rebecca Collard of Walker, Karen (Larry) Noordhoff of Muskegon, and Mark (Donna) Collard of FL; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 1 sister, June (Dick) Howe of Hart; 1 brother, Charles (Dawn) Collard of Hart. He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Goulet.


FUNERAL LITURGY: Monday, April 26, 2010, at 11:00 AM, at St. James Catholic Church, 5179 Dowling St., with the Rev. Fr. Donn P. Tufts presiding. A MILITARY SALUTE will be conducted, at the church, by White Lake VFW Post #3256. VISITATION: Sunday, April 25, from 4-6 PM, at St. James Catholic Church in Montague. DONATIONS: American Heart Association, Midwest Affiliate, Memorials & Tributes Program, Dept. 77-3968, Chicago, IL 60678-3968
