Michael Alderson
Michael Thomas Alderson, 44, of New London, died at 345 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, at his home.
Born June 20, 1953, in Burlington, he was the son of Tom and Shirley Moore Alderson. On March 11, 1972, he married Brenda Jean Cole in New London.
Mr. Alderson was a 1971 graduate of Burlington High School and attended Southeastern Community College. He was a carpenter for 25 years.
He was a member of New London United Methodist Church and Southeast Iowa Archaeology Association.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kristen Needham of Marshalltown and Tara Alderson of New London; father and stepmother, Tom and Maryann Alderson of Burlington; mother and stepfather, Shirley and Gary Francis of Burlington; two sisters, Debra Gubba of Burlington and Patricia Davidson of West Virginia; and one grandmother, Dorothy Moore of Burlington.
Visitation will be after noon Thursday at Elliott Chapel, New London, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 830 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Alderson will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel, with the Rev. Ray Howland officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery, New London.
A memorial has been established to Southeast Iowa Archaeology Association.
