He was a hard working man, strict, his way or the highway type person.

Military Enlistment, Merchant Marines, South Carolina, 5 years, served overseas in South Pacific.

Education, Graduate of Glen Campbell High School

Occupations: Coal Miner (age 15); Ford Factory, Detroit Michigan; Steel Mill (laborer); Construction Worker; Truck Driver; Liberty Excavators, Retired 1992; Grew up on a farm and worked it for 16 years.

Obituary:
David E. Lewis, age 89, of Lewisberry passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Manor Care. Born December 27, 1926 in Glen Campbell, PA, he was a son of the late Earl and Sarah (Tyger) Lewis.
David was a diesel mechanic for Hempt Bros in his earlier working career then retired from Liberty Excavators. He was a World War II veteran. David loved his dog Ui.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma (Snyder) Lewis; son George Lewis; two sisters, Mary Griffith and Blanche Lewis. Surviving are his six children, Susan Taylor and husband George, David Lewis and wife Cheryl, Terrill Lewis, Sarah Lewis, Rose Nester and husband Bill and Thomas Lewis and companion Donna Farris; three sisters, Rose Hicks, Dolores Shipley and Jean Ryan; brother Pete Lewis, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Graveside services with be held 9:30 AM Friday, October 28, 2016 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
