Bertha Mae Tenney, 86, passed away on October 13, 2015. She was born March 30, 1929 in Upshur County, District of Union, WV to Archie D. and Lena Mae Suder. Bertha retired from May Company and was a member of Norton Baptist Church, where she was involved in Bible studies. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, gardening, flower arranging, and ceramics. Bertha loved to spoil her grandchildren dearly and also adored her Miniature Schnauzer, Betsy.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elles Tenney; brother, Rev. Paul (Freda) Suder; and baby sister, Clera Suder. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Ray) Snyder and Sandra (Richard) Church; brother, Roy “Joe” (Charlotte) Suder; sisters, Gertrude Quick and Etta Suder; grandchildren, Michelle (David) Wright, Heather (Alex) Oris, and Kelly Church; great-grandchildren, Owen and Joshua, and another expected in March; nieces and nephews. Bertha was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Chapel Hill Retirement Community and Summa Hospice for the care and comfort provided to Bertha.

The family will receive friends at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd. on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Norton Baptist Church, 4239 S. Cleveland Massillon Rd., Norton, OH 44203 on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 9:30 a.m., Pastor Dwight Strickland officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
