He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters; was a World War II veteran and was a school teacher for Whitfield County school for 30 years before retiring in 1981; then he started driving a school bus, which he did for 18 years.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Archie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Trudy Brown Haggard of Dalton; daughters and son-in-law, Jane and Terry Timms of Marietta, Jerrie Haggard of Dalton; nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Thursday at the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Ronnie Missildine officiating.
