James "Jimmy" Caracca was born in Burnley, Lancs, UK in 1924 on Accrington road, this is where Jimmy met Doris and married on 31st March 1945, they consequently had 3 children, all girls Jean, Eileen and Maureen. After reading an advert for emigration to Canada Jimmy decided to up roots and move there. In 1953 he went over on his own to set up home and found a house in Keswick, Ontario, this is where he set up home with his wife and 3 girls. He got work initially in Niagara falls working on the hydro-electric plant there and then soon after found a job working for Air Canada at Toronto Airport where he worked until retirement. Jimmy and Doris frequently visited Burnley during their new life in Canada, something which I will always remember as it holds very happy childhood memories for me and my family. Their children went on to get married in Canada and now have a large family with many aunts, uncle, cousins, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We visited them all in 1980, 1998 and 2001 and had a great time there. My Uncle Jimmy died on 22nd March 2005 after a long battle with cancer and had his ashes scattered in his home town of Richmond hill. I will always hold very fond memories of my Uncle as he and my Aunty Doris were my second mum and dad and I love them both very much. Aunty Doris sadly died in 2020 aged 94.
