William Riley "Willie" Cleaver Jr was born on September 18, 1870 in Calloway County, Kentucky, the son of William Riley Cleaver Sr (1837-1911) and his wife Sarah "Elizabeth" (Trevathan) Cleaver (1837-1924).

He was married 1st about 1888 to Nancy Adeline Boggess 1865-1936), the daughter of William Boggess and Nancy (McDaniel) Boggess. He was married 2nd to Bessie Romaine.

Working for Nashville Electric Service and living at 1701 Woodland Street, Nashville, Tennessee, he was 74 years old and married when he died at home of chronic myocarditis on June 20, 1945. Burial was two days later in Spring Hill Cemetery at Madison [city, not county].
