Funeral services for Anne Louise Adams, 76, of Columbia, MO formerly of LaBelle MO, were held Saturday, Nov. 5 (1983) in Parkers Funeral Home in Columbia, conducted by Rev. Albert Bean. Graveside services were held Sunday in LaBelle Cemetery, the Rev. Elmer McCully conducting.
Mrs. Adams died Friday, Nov. 4, (1983) in Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. She was born at LaBelle on July 15, 1907, the daughter of James Thomas and Margaret Ann Dailey Coder. She married Justin Adams on July 14, 1929, in LaBelle. He died April 19, 1966.
Mrs. Adams graduated from LaBelle High School. She attended William Jewell College in Liberty, Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville, and the University of Houston in Houston, Tex. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in music. Mrs. Adams was an educator. She was employed by the Houston School District in Houston, Tex., from 1931 until her retirement in 1970.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Columbia, Kate Thompson Circle of King's Daughters and the University of Missouri Medical Center of Volunteers. She received a life membership to the National PTA for her service to children and youth. In 1966, she was presented the Outstanding Music Educator in Houston award.
Surviving are a daughter, Dr. Sarah Anne Hulett of San Antonio, Tex.; a brother, Dr. Ralph Coder of Hays, Kans.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister.
