DENIS J. ARFT Beloved father and grandfather, died May 12 in Las Vegas of natural causes. He was 77.
Mr. Arft was born June 23, 1938, the son of Norma and Harold Arft. He graduated from Avondale High School in Auburn Hills and, with a love of hot rod cars, went to work at GM in the Microfiche Department. He retired after 38 years with GM and fulfilled a life long dream of moving to Las Vegas.
He was married to Vera Arft for 29 years, who introduced him to his love for Brasil and he had many joyful times there with family. He welcomed a daughter, a son, and years later two granddaughters.
Mr. Arft is survived by Vera; daughter, Christine (Tim Sherpardson); son, Jayme (Sarah); brother, Lynn; and granddaughters, Audrey and Julia.
A Memorial luncheon will be held Sunday, May 22 starting at 11:30 a.m. at the Kilgour Scottish Centere, 2363 Rochester Road, Troy, MI. 48083 (248) 526-1849. Flowers can be sent the day of the memorial.
