Dorothy joined the LDS Church, and after the death of her husband, she followed her family to Provo. She has 21 grand-children and 63 great-grandchildren.
Known for her quick sense of humor, a love of mystery stories and blessed with many talents, she was an eager genealogy researcher, with a knack of turning dead-ends into successful links. She also wrote and self-published family and community histories that are highly treasured.
She made numerous intricate caps, shawls and afgans for others. She produced a large quantity of stuffed bears for her ward's humanitarian project.
At age 92, on January 7, 2008, Dorothy succumbed peacefully to cancer. Her family is grateful for the tender and thorough care that she received at Orchard Park Care Center, the Utah Valley Specialty Hospital and at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center where at each, she spent several of her final weeks.
Surrounded by her immediate family, interment was at the Huntington City Cemetery, next to her husband, Amos, and many of his pioneer ancestors.
