WILLISTON, VT. - Alvin Lewis Isham, 80, passed away on Friday, October 28th 2016.

Born in Williston, Vt. on May 10th 1936, he was the son of George and Sylvia (Wellinger) Isham.

Alvin, Al, or Cricket, as he was called by family and friends, was married to the former Judith Welch on October 20th 1962.

He was a member of the Vermont Air National Guard Reserves, and worked for 30 years at IBM.

Following his retirement from IBM, he worked for 17 years with the Town of Williston, Vt., where he kept the town as well-groomed and neat as he did his house and yard on Oak Hill Road.

Alvin was a skilled craftsman who was always puttering in his woodshop. In 1962, he built a family home where he and Judy raised their three children.

Alvin enjoyed rebuilding a 1930 Model A and driving it around the Vermont countryside with his sweetheart, Judy. He was an avid square dancer, and he danced almost every Saturday night with Judy and a group of long-standing friends and family.

Al loved bluegrass music and often went to concerts with Judy in Vermont, Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee. Alvin and Judy also enjoyed traveling to visit all 50 U.S. States, and made it to 45 States before he became too ill to travel.

He was predeceased by a sister Barbara, brothers Kenneth and Donald; brothers-in-law Jim Ingleson, Bob Marcotte and Emerson Miles.

Arrangements by the Corbin & Palmer Funeral Home on 9 Pleasant Street in Essex Junction, Vt.
