DANNENBERG - Irvin J. Dannenberg, 92, of 707 Hiawatha Ave., died Sunday morning, September 13, 1981, at the Oak Ridge Acres Nursing Home where he had been a resident for the past year.
He was born July 12, 1889, west of Hiawatha, the son of Charles and Clara Fridell Dannenberg. He was a lifelong resident in Brown County.
Mr. Dannenberg farmed near Hiawatha for several years where he had a Grade A dairy. He retired in 1949 and moved to Hiawatha.
He worked as a salesman for United Funds, Farmcraft Feed and Pioneer Seeds.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Hiawatha, where he served as Sunday School superintendent and deacon for many years. He was also a member of Hiawatha IOOF Lodge No. 83, where he served on the state board for three terms, and the Hiawatha Elks Lodge No. 1741.
His first wife, Mary Dannenberg, died in 1911. He married Olwen Walters Jones May 1, 1938, at Hiawatha. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Like, Susanville, Calif., one stepson, Roy Jones, Hiawatha, 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, from the Casselman-Meek Funeral Home with the Rev. Don C. Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Hiawatha Cemetery.
