U.S. Veteran Mr. Edward Charles Blackmon was born on December 11, 1944, to the proud parents known as Castor and Ethel Blackmon in Houston, Texas. Mr. Blackmon attended public school in the North Forest School District where he later graduated from B. C. Elmore High School. He immediately joined the United States Army. On October 25, 2016, Mr. Blackmon (Kojak) received his wings from the Lord. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vanessa Blackmon; father, Castor Blackmon and nephew, Robert Coffey. He leaves to cherish his memories: son, Edward C. Blackmon Jr.(Amber Blackmon); step-son, Demontraion Blackmon; mother, Ethel Blackmon; sisters, Helen Coffey and Mildred Johnson (Jesse Johnson). Also a host of other family and friends. Mr. Blackmon will be laid to rest on Thursday, November 3, 2016. Viewing will began at 10 am followed by a funeral service at 11 am. Both services will be held at Duncan Mortuary Chapel, 5806 N Wayside Dr., Houston, Texas 77028. Interment will be at Houston National Cemetery immediately following.
