George Ellis Arnold, widely known landowner of Frankstown, was killed instantly at, 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 26 in a three vehicle traffic accident on Highway 45, near his home. He was 76. Services for Mr. Arnold were held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 28, in the chapel of Waters Funeral Home with the Rev. Hugh Conwill officiating. Burial was in the Booneville Cemetery with Waters Funeral Directors in charge. Mr. Arnold was supervisor of the third district of Prentiss, County for 12 years; and was a widely known singer of gospel songs for many years. He was a Mason.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Evora Owen Arnold; two daughters, Mrs. Hugh Epting of Jericho and Mrs. Horace Browning of Rienzi; a son, Acker Arnold of Frankstown; a sister, Mrs. Wes Grisham of Baldwyn; 10 grandchildren and 24 great ‑grandchildren.
