From his lengthy obituary, dated 5 October 1914 in The Quincy Daily Herald:

William C. Fick was born in Quincy March 4, 1866, and was a son of the late Adam and Mrs. Mary Fick. He was married to Miss Lizzetta Dick January 9, 1895, a sister of Albert and Ernest Dick of this city, by Dr. S. H. Dana, pastor of the Congregational church. Mr. Fick lived in Quincy all his life, and for many years, was employed at the post office, a large portion of that time as a money order clerk. Six or seven years ago, he severed his connection with the post office, and organized the Fick Coal company, his brother John being the other member of the company. He was a member of Lambert Lodge of Masons; of the Elks, the T. P. A., and also a member of Salem church.
