Sandy was my friend for over 50 years. We grew up together on North Ave. in Chicago. We belonged to the Association house, we went to summer camp together, school together and we had the run of each other's house. My Mom was like her Mom and her Mom was like mine. Our Dads looked out for both of us, always warning us "Don't let your Mom catch you two over there"! When I was thirteen my Mom had to have surgery and spent two weeks in hospital, even though I had three grown sisters, Mom let me stay at Sandy's house. When my sister needed a babysitter for her 2 kids she hired Sandy. She took her job very serious and helped around the house and cooked meals for them. She was a Catholic all her life and never strayed from her faith. She was very funny and we could laugh about anything and everything for hours. Sandy was a dog lover. I have no doubt that "Rusty" her much loved cocker spaniel was running around and jumping all over her when she arrived in heaven.
Sandy died unexpectedly at home alone except for the company of her two dogs, from complications of diabetes. This has been a very hard addition for me to make to find a grave. Her husband, parents and I were not ready to lose her, we all miss her very much.
