Bobby Lee Cornell, 81, died Sunday, October 23, 2016 in Amarillo TX. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Zybach Cemetery, Zybach, TX, with Rev. Mike Price, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppers Family Funeral Home of Wheeler, TX.
Bobby Lee Cornell was born on April 24, 1935 in Allison, TX, to the late Mr. William Cornell and Gertie (Gilmer) Cornell. He was a 1953 graduate of Allison High School. Mr. Cornell married Mary Lou Elrod on April 27, 1956 at Anson, TX. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2015.
He was a heavy equipment operator until moving to Pampa to go to work for Tom's Candy truck. Mr. Cornell also did ranch work for Britt Ranch, custodial work for Allison ISD for over 12 years, and co-owned A & B Steaming.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, Anthony Cornell, one granddaughter, Jessica Paige Hefner, and one grandson, Jeremy Wayne Cornell.
Survivors include one son, William Cornell and wife, Vickie, of Cordell, OK; three daughters, Beverly Smith and husband, Joe, of Stinnett, TX, Tammy Newman of Allison, TX, Becky Hefner and husband Tommy, of Stinnett, TX; two brothers, Doyle Cornell of Olney, TX, and Larry Cornell of Boxelder, TX; one sister, Janice Parks of Ashdown, AR; Twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends for formal visitation on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 6-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
