Robert C. "Bob" Hoffman, age 89, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Wednesday evening, November 2, 2016 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Bob was born on February 15, 1927 in Two Rivers. He was the son of the late Clarence and Irene Bredeal Hoffman. Bob was a graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers with the class of 1945. He entered the United States Marine Corps in 1945 at the age of 17 and served his country overseas during World War II. During his tour of duty Bob was assigned to the USS Macon and the USS Houston and traveled Europe with the Good Will Tour. After being honorably discharged in 1947 with the rank of Corporal he returned to Two Rivers where he was employed as a general laborer and carpenter. In 1963 Bob established Hoffman Masonry which he operated until his sons took over ownership and operation of the company after his retirement. He was an active member of the former St. Mark's Catholic Church in Two Rivers and past member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob loved to bowl and was a member of many leagues. He also enjoyed stamp collecting, bird watching, and was an avid hunter and fisherman taking fishing trips to Canada for over 30 years. His most memorable trips were taken with his two daughters to Alaska and with his son Anthony who was his escort on the Honor Flight for Veterans to Washington D.C. On August 7, 1948 he married Angeline D. Duckett in Two Rivers. She preceded him in death 21 years ago to the day on November 2, 1995.

He is survived by five children: Anthony (Maureen) Hoffman Sr., Manitowoc; Paul (Paulette) Hoffman, Manitowoc; Linda Wolfert, Oconomoc; Kay (Stephen) Pierce, Manitowoc; Kevin (Laurie) Hoffman, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren: Melissa (Wayne) Genrich, David Hoffman, Andrea Mrozinski, Jessica Mrozinski, Nicole (Devin) Ponda, Rebecca Wolfert, and Christopher Wolfert; six great grandchildren: Tyler, Dalton, Chloe, Ethan, Quinn, and Callum; two brothers: Donald (Barbara) Hoffman, Cedarburg; Michael Hoffman, Sarasota, FL; one sister: Kathleen Grall, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Irene Hoffman; wife: Angeline; grandson: Anthony Hoffman Jr.; one sister: Lois Curry.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. David Beaudry. Visitation will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of the cremains at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. A luncheon will be held for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home following the funeral service.
