MISS PETERSON OF GALVA DIES SUNDAY; FUNERAL TUESDAY.

Galva, June 23 -- (Special) -- Miss Anna Olivia Peterson, for nearly 30 years a teacher in the Galva public schools, diet at her home in this city at 10 o'clock Sunday morning.

Miss Peterson was born in Galva March 26, 1866*, being the eldest of five children. She attended the Galva public schools, and was graduated in 1882, at the age of 16. She then attended Northwestern university, and was graduated with the class of 1886, when she was 20 years old.

After completing her work at the university, she taught a year at the Naslund country school, northwest of Galva. In 1887, she began her work as a teacher in the Galva public schools, in which capacity she served continuously for 20 years. In 1916, she was pensioned and retired from the profession of teaching. She was then librarian of the Galva Public Library for six years, giving up the work because of impaired health in February, 1922.

Hoping to improve her health she went to California in the latter part of February, 1922, remaining there until May, 1923, when she returned to this city.

Miss Peterson was a faithful member of the Swedish M. E. church of this city, and for nine years she was superintendent of the Sunday school. She was also a member of the Mystic Workers' lodge of this city. During her long residence in this city she made a great many friends who will regret her passing.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Emma Z. Inberg, and by a brother, O. M. Peterson, both of this city, and by a brother, B. Peterson, Los Angeles, Calif. There are also a number of nieces and nephews. Her father died in 1908, her mother in 1916, and a brother, Alfred, passed away in 1920.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon. At 2 o'clock a short services will be held at the residence, and at 2:30 o'clock the public service will be held at the local Swedish M. E. church. The Rev. A. G. Peterson, pastor of the church will be in charge, and burial will be in the family lot in Galva cemetery.
