Mary Sue Waggoner Thomas, 84, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on November 6, 2016 in Kerrville, Texas. She was born in Saint Jo, Texas to Burl and Mary Williams on January 21, 1932. She married Kyle Waggoner on October 29, 1949 in Saint Jo, Texas. After Kyle’s death in 1984, Sue married Jay Thomas March 21, 1985. After Jay’s death in 1995, Sue remained in Odessa, Texas until moving to the Hill Country in February 2014.
Sue loved her family. Being with them brought her much happiness and laughter. She enjoyed dancing as often as she could. Always liked the exercise it brought to her. One of her favorite past times was working in her yard which she did as long as she was able. When she wasn’t in the yard she kept a spotless home and set a great table for her family. Sue held various occupations that provided her with many opportunities to learn, gain life-long friendships, travels, and meet exciting people. She was a member of Sherwood Church of Christ in Odessa.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Mary Williams; her husbands, Kyle Waggoner and Jay Thomas; and her granddaughter, Kelli Nicole Waggoner
Sue is survived by her children, Becky and Fred Wilson of Fredericksburg, Texas, Kirk Waggoner of Odessa, Texas and Kevin and Debbie Waggoner of Austin, Texas; her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Jerry Long of Palmdale, California; her brother, Wayne Williams of Saint Jo, Texas; her grandchildren, Rebecca Cole and fiance Mike Stephens of Austin, Texas, Kesa Wilson of Austin, Texas, B.J. (Benjamin) and Rachel Wilson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Rusty Waggoner of Odessa, Texas, Phillip and Chelsea Waggoner of Buda, Texas, Wesley Waggoner of Odessa, Texas, and Rebekah Burns of Austin, Texas; her great grandchildren, Aubrey and Ashton Waggoner of Buda, Texas and Cailin and Kimber Wilson of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
A gravesite service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint Jo, Texas.
