Patty Ann Burgess, age 80, of Corbin, died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Baptist Health in Corbin. She was a daughter of the late Ralph and Helen Louise Ross Thompson, born to them on March 28, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio.

Patty was a Homemaker, and a Member of the West Corbin Baptist Church.

On September 22, 1954, she united in marriage to Archie Flem D. Burgess, and to this union a son: Thomas F. Burgess was born.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother: Ralph Thompson and Helen Louise Ross Thompson Bingham; her granddaughter: Lorri Beth Burgess; her sister: Betty Thompson Ruckles; her brother: Jerald Thompson; and her brother-in-law: Arville Fayette Burgess.

She is survived by her husband of over 62 years: Archie Flem D. Burgess of Corbin. Her son: Thomas F. Burgess and wife, Jackie of Corbin. Her grandchildren: Rebecca Johnson and husband, Nick; Aimee Gross and husband, Christopher; and Jaimie Burgess and fiancé, Christopher Taylor. Her great grandchildren: Madilyn Bloomingburg, Noah Stevens, Emee Gross, Thatcher Gross, Xander Johnson, Lane Johnson and Wyatt Johnson. Her brother: Robert Thompson and wife, Sandra of Oklahoma. Her three sisters: Nancy Thompson Carroll of Columbus, Ohio; Judy Thompson Creech of Arizona; and Nellie Jo Thompson McCart of New Hampshire. Her sister-in-law: Bobbie Burgess of Barbourville. Her brother-in-law: Arliss Gene Burgess and wife, Evelyn of Marion, Indiana; and a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services for Patty Ann Burgess will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 8, 2016 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Teague officiating. Burial will follow in the Partin-Wilson Memorial Gardens at Prichard Branch. Those serving as Pallbearers: will be Family and Friends.

The Burgess family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M. on Monday, and on Tuesday after 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
