ST. MARY'S-Donald Davis Chivington, of Route 1, in St. Mary's (Auglaize County), Ohio, died at his residence, on Friday, February 26, 1971, at 10:40 A.M. Death was due to a heart attack at the age of 65 years old.
Born on April 5, 1904, in Van Wert County, Ohio, the son of Willis Jasper Chivington and Melissa (Cain) Chivington. He married the former Florence Glass on March 10, 1926.
He was a retired feed dealer, having owned and operated the Kossuth Food Mill. He was a member of the Hillsdale United Brethren Church in St. Mary's and the Men's Brotherhood of that church. A former president of the Noble Township school board, he was presently the secretary of the St. Mary's Food and Locker Company.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday, at the Hillsdale United Brethren Church, with the Reverend Jerry F. Fair and the Reverend L.D. Dellinger officiating, and interment will be in the Elm Grover Cemetery in St. Mary's (Auglaize County), Ohio.
Friends may call the Yoder-Long and Folk Funeral Home, at 426 West High Street, anytime on Sunday.
He is survived by his wife, Florence; four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Mary) Hertenstein, of St. Mary's (Auglaize County, Ohio), Wilma, of Lexington, Kentucky, Doris, of St. Mary's (Auglaize County), Ohio, Mrs. Thomas (Anna) Brodbeck, of Huntington, Indiana; one son, Lynn, of LaGrange, Indiana; five brothers, Olen, of Celina, Ohio, Dale, of Rushsyvania, Ohio, Boyd and Ivan, of St. Mary's (Auglaize County), Ohio and the Reverend Claude Chivington, of Vaughnsville; three sisters, Mrs. Wilbur (Lottie) Cully, of Wilshire, Ohio, Mrs. Francis (Glee) Kruse and Mrs. H.E. (Ila Beth) Bushong, both of St. Mary's (Auglaize County), Ohio and eight grandchildren.
