We have lost our precious Shawn Lee Smith who passed away on August 5, 2006 at the age of 27 in Lubbock. Shawn was born on July 20, 1979 to David Smith and Melodie Raglin Smith in Lubbock.
Shawn graduated from Frenship High School where he was active in football. Shawn married Candace Northcott on August 7, 1999 in Lubbock. He worked as a brick layer and enjoyed playing roller hockey. Shawn loved cooking outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Victory Life Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, David Smith and good friend, Elex McGuire.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Candace of Lubbock; a son, J' Den Smith of the home; a daughter, Elexa Smith of the home; parents, Steve and Melodie Rinker of Lubbock; a step-sister, Sarah Kate Rinker of San Antonio; maternal grandmother, Della Raglin of Lubbock; paternal grandmother, Betty Smith of Lubbock; and many loving friends and family members.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 10, 2006 at White Memorial Chapel, with Bro. Brad Jurkovich officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at White Funeral Home in Lubbock. Arrangements are under the personal care of White Funeral Home of Lubbock.
