Born April 28, 1933 in Caldwell, Idaho, to Louie and Thelma Vickers. Died at the age of 81 on April 4, 2015, in his Boise home surrounded by loved ones after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
A viewing will be held on Saturday April 11, 2015, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Cloverdale Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 10:00 AM at Cloverdale Funeral Home Chapel. He will be laid to rest at Cloverdale Cemetery. There will be a reception following the service at the Cloverdale Funeral Home Reception Hall. Lunch will be served.
Ken was a devoted, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather.
Ken grew up in Parma, Idaho, and graduated from Parma High School in 1951.
He was in the Air Force and supported the Korean War effort.
In October 1960 he married Delores Cantrell and welcomed step daughter Donna Montgomery and step son Donald Montgomery. In 1961 they had son Tony and in 1963 daughter Andrea.
Ken worked for and retired from the Idaho Transportation Department where he was a Certified Engineering Technician and Inspector.
Ken loved hunting, fishing, being in nature, and all things outdoors in our beautiful Idaho.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, children, children in laws, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sister in laws and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews that all love and miss him dearly.
A special thanks from the family to St. Lukes Hospice; especially his nurse, Deanna, for all her help and support through this difficult time.
The family ask, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Idaho Food Bank or Simply Cats (cat shelter) in his honor.
