He married Patricia Dirkes on June 5, 1949.
Ron served in the Navy, drove truck for Schneider Transport for 25 years and after retiring, opened "Ron's Saw Filing". He was well known for his easy- going demeanor, warm friendly smile and on-going sense of humor.
Ron will be sadly missed by his children: Russell (Barb) Harper, Linda White, Grace (Bob) Nelson and Ann (Brett) Anderson;
his 11 grandchildren, Candy, Amanda, Chris, Jon, Randy, Emily, Taylor, Hannah, Jack, Alison and Jenna;
his five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Cassidy, Lexi, Kolten and Ava;
his brothers: Robert (Helen) Harper and Dale (Bonnie) Harper and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife, of 65 years, Patricia Harper; his son, James Harper; stepmother, Ann Winters; grandchild, Michael Paul Meunier; his step-sister, Carol Miller-Dumke; and brother, Marshall "Dean" Harper.
Visitation will take place at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, on Friday, November 11, 2016, at 4:30 p.m. until the memorial service at 6:30 p.m. with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Brian Brunette with Green Bay Oncology, the staff at Unity Hospice for the care and support they had given Dad over the last three months, which allowed him to stay at home with his daughter, Linda, and to the staff of the Unity-Jack and Ingrid Meng Residence for the care they provided to Dad in his final few days.
