Mrs. Ellen Allvord, 78, wife of Archibald Allvord, carpet weaver, of Shamokin, died at the home of her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Albright.
Born May 7, 1873 in Cressona, she was a daughter of the late John and Emma Reed Schwartz. When she was a young girl, the family removed to Shamokin. She was a member of the Trinity United Evangelical Church and married 57 years ago.
Surviving are her husband; four daughters; one son; two sisters; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral is Saturday afternoon.
