Mrs. Best was born in Charlotte, NC, daughter of the late Reverend Fred and Frances Gardner Dabney. She was married to the late Burrell W. Best, Jr. She was an advisor at the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.
Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Michele Mimms (Byron) Sheppard; Marci Mimms (Todd) Miller; step-son and daughter, Burrell G. (Julie) Best; brother and sister-in-law, Eric (Gina) Dabney; and grandchildren, Taylor, Sydney and Rachel Miller; Drayton Sheppard; Elise, Olivia and Brycen Best. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burrell W. Best, Jr. and step-son, Brunson Best.
