Karen R. DePas, age 53, of 453 East Main St., Mishicot, died unexpectedly Thursday, January 6, 2000, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Green Bay.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2000, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot, with burial at St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery, Dykesville.
Karen was born May 21, 1946, in Green Bay, to the late Harold and Rita Vandervest Ropson. She was a graduate of the Luxemburg High School with the class of 1965. Karen married David DePas July 3, 1965, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dykesville. She has been a Mishicot resident for the past 25 years, where she and her husband, Dave, have owned and operate the Badger Bowl and the Cozy Corner Café, in Mishicot. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. Karen enjoyed spending time with her family,, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, David DePas Sr.; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Carl Hlinak, Mishicot; two sons and one daughter-in-law, David Jr. and Kim DePas, Jason DePas, all of Mishicot; four grandchildren, Brandon, Trevor, Derek, and Dustin; one brother and four sisters-in-law, Robert and Lynn Ropson, Dykesville, Joyce (Lyle) Basten, Green Bay, Beatrice and (Don) Pavlat, Casco, Darlene (Warren) Adamson, Green Bay; her step mother, Donna Morgan, Ripon, and Donna’s children. Her mother-in-law, Alice DePas, Luxemburg. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, Norman DePas.
Relatives and friends may call at the Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday. Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home, before the time of service.
