Harry joined his older brother J. Edward Goff, Sr in the fish & seafood business in June 1909, which became known as Goff Brothers, later Goff's Quality Foods. The business remained in the family until the retirement of his sons Stanley & Wayne in 1981. The business still bears the Goff name.

The Goff's also had a vacation home in Hance's Point, Maryland. According to son Wayne, his father was hesitant about a "home in the country," until he was assured it had indoor plumbing.
