Obituary from The Deseret News (Salt Lake City, UT) - October 22, 2000:

Loretta Clark, lover of dancing, traveling, entertaining, Halloween high-jinks, and family wienie roasts, died in her home of 60 years Friday, October 20.

Mom and Dad, the late Jack P. Clark, were married Jan 4, 1931, and raised their five daughters in East Mill Creek. RaNae (Bill) Davis, Myrna Spratling, Pam (Rod) Engh, Sue (Leon) Christensen, and Jody Clark survive her, along with 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren who called her "Nana." Our only brother, John Clayton "Skippy" Clark, predeceased Mom, as did all of her brothers and sisters.

Mom was born Oct 14, 1909, to Lucy Loretta Clayton and Jesse George Riser. She grew up in Salt Lake City and retired from Mountain Bell in 1967. She was a member of the LDS Church.

In her heyday, Mom was known for her backyard parties, her sense of humor, her 4th of July parade floats, and her talent for creating not only the Halloween costumes but the personalities that brought them to life.

We daughters wish to express our gratitude to all of you who made Mom a part of your life and whose calls, cards, flowers, and visits have always brightened her days.

Friends and family will gather to visit at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S. 2300 E. in Salt Lake City, Monday Oct 23, 6-8 p.m. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday Oct 24, at the family burial site located at 405 N. Main in the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 North "N" St.
