Joey Hunt Accardi, 57, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois.

He was born January 15, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was very talented with his construction traits and enjoyed his many years as a carpenter. He worked many years with the Union Carpenter's Local #633 and had last worked with D.B. Schenker as a forklift operator.

He enjoyed his days of fishing, camping and hunting and was of the Lutheran faith. Joey will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Charlotte (Schollmeyer) Rodery of Granite City; his father, Paul Accardi Sr. of Granite City; his loving girlfriend, Tracy Bennett of Granite City; three brothers, Paul Accardi Jr. of Granite City, Tony Accardi of Granite City and Ross Accardi of Richardson, Texas; three sisters, Kathry Kelley of Fults, Illinois, Deborah Rosch of Granite City and Phyllis Case of St. Charles, Missouri; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and many friends.

In celebration of his life, a memorial visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 7:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and may be accepted at the funeral home.
