James Lee Cartee was born on October 7, 1927 at Mine La Motte, MO the son of Noah James and Corena (Lenz) Cartee and passed away on November 11, 2016 at his residence in Fredericktown, MO at the age of 89 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Edna Ruth (Wilfong) Cartee whom he was united in marriage to on December 19, 1947 at Fredericktown, and one sister Mary Stevens of Boise, ID. He is survived by one son Michael L. Cartee (Karen) of Womack, MO; two daughters Helen Gilliland (Gary) of Desloge, MO, and Ruth Ann Pope of Park Hills, MO; one brother George (Melba) Cartee of Ste. Genevieve, MO; one sister Elouise McMahon of Wood River, IL, six grandchildren Sarah, Seth, Skyler, William, Garan & Dylan, and two great grandchildren Addison & Stella. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Fredericktown and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He enjoyed farming, fishing, and gardening.
