He was the son of Margrett Ann Leathers and Alexander Anderson Simmons.In 1918 he was drafted into the army during WWI and saw action in France.On a ship going overseas, the ship was hit by a torpedo and the troop ship sank with only one life lost. He was attached to the 30th Div. He was a farmer and own a farm in the Center Church Rd. Community.
