Maker Calls C. Parker, Aged 60.

Charles Parker, 60, died at his home two and one-half miles east of El Dorado at 12:30 a.m., Wednesday after a years' illness from stomach trouble. He had been growing much worse since about December 15.

Mr. Parker was born April 14, 1853 in DeWitt, Ill. He lived there until he came to El Dorado in 1884. Before leaving DeWitt he married Sarah C. Fisher, who has been his help mate through life.

When he came here he purchased the place he lived on at his death. Since 1890 he has been conducting the Parker quarries on the place. His son, Pearl Parker, took charge of the quarries about a year ago.

Mr. Parker was a member of the Odd Fellows and Knights of Macabees lodges. The Odd Fellows will have charge of the funeral.

Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. R.T. Lewellen, Mrs. I.G. Kimball, and Mrs. Maynard R. Barrett, all of El Dorado; one son, L. Pearl Parker, of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Cresap, of Monticello, Ill., and Mrs. Jane Burrell, of Utica, Kans.; and one brother, Matthew Parker, of DeWitt, Ill.

Mr. Parker was well known in and around El Dorado and had many friends who mourn his death.

The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. Mrs. Burrell, of Utica, arrived Wednesday. The services will be held from the home east of El Dorado and interment will be in Belle Vista cemetery. Rev. J.W. Everds will conduct the services.
