Larry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Helen Jean, their three children, Sean (Tracy), Jennifer (Jon), and Evan (Stephanie); beloved grandsons Donovan and Logan, and much-cherished relatives and friends.
Larry was born in Hammond, Indiana to Charles and Rita Bossinger on Christmas Day 1946. He grew up in East Chicago, Indiana across the street from his future wife, whom he married in 1969.
Larry served two years in the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he attended Purdue University Calumet and worked at Inland Steel in East Chicago. After marrying, Larry and Helen Jean moved to South Florida in 1970 where they raised their three children and enjoyed many fun family vacations to the mountains of North Carolina and visiting relatives back in "The Region."
Larry was employed for nearly 27 years by Florida Power & Light Company and was an active member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). After retiring from FPL, he worked for Com-Ed in northern Illinois and American Electric Power in southwest Michigan before moving to Sebastian, Florida in 2001.
Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois on December 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
