He graduated from Savanna High School in Anaheim in 1964 and completed his undergraduate studies in 1968 at Loyola Marymount University. He earned his law degree in 1971 from UCLA. A prominent and polished defense attorney, Tony was known as a fair lawyer and consummate gentleman. Please make checks payable to Loyola Marymount University c/o Alma Vorst, Development Services, Loyola Marymount University, One LMU Dr., Suite 2800, Los Angeles, CA 90045-2659.

*Criminal Defense Lawyer. Brooklier, the son of a Mafia boss, was known for representing high-profile clients. He attended Loyola Marymount University, where he earned a B.A. in 1968, then attended University of California at Los Angeles Law School, where he earned his law degree in 1971. He was admitted to the California Bar Association in 1972, and worked as an attorney in the California Deputy Attorney General's Office from 1972 until 1973, when he left his post there to represent his father, Mafia boss Dominic Brooklier, who faced federal racketeering charges. The father was convicted and died in prison, but it was the beginning of an auspicious career in criminal defense for his son. Through much of the 1990s, he defended "Hollywood Madam" Heidi Fleiss, who operated a pricey call girl ring for the wealthy and famous. Her trials became a media sensation, as did speculation about her client list. Fleiss was convicted of three pandering charges but Brooklier had the verdicts thrown out on appeal. Other Brooklier clients included singer Rick James, actor Jeff Conaway and rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight. Brooklier, who spent time behind bars after failing to file income taxes in 1993 and 1994, died of an apparent suicide.
