Like most other members of his family, Mr. Beers attended Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, but he was forced to leave in 1924 because undergraduates were not allowed to marry. He completed his undergraduate work while studying law at Yale University and was awarded a B. A. from Trinity in 1929 as well as a Bachelor of Law by Yale.

He joined his father in the law firm of Beers and Beers at 205 Church Street, New Haven, Connecticut. He also served one term as Attorney General for the State of Connecticut.

Mr. and Mrs. Beers lived in New Haven, Connecticut, where he was active for thirty years in the affairs of St. Paul's Church, serving as vestryman, Clerk of the Parish and Clerk of the Vestry.
