Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Monroe.
He was the father of H. D. Ruffin, head of the Department of Occupational Standards for the State of Louisiana.
A native of Laurel, Miss., he had lived in Bastrop for the past 30 years.
Survivors, in addition to his son in Baton Rouge, include his widow, Mrs. Sarah E. Ruffin of Bastrop; four daughters, Mrs. N. G. Brady of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. B. C. Beckman of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Bev Sharbono and Mrs. C. C. Fryday both of Monroe; four other sons, S. C. Ruffin of Baker, B. E. Ruffin of Bastrop, C. H. Ruffin of Monroe and L. V. Ruffin, Shreveport; two brothers, Ercie Ruffin of Oak Grove and Paul Ruffin, Pineville; one sister, Mrs. Charles Wood of McGehee, Miss., and a number of grandchildren.
