Mrs. Wilma B. Leefers, 77, of Auburn, formerly of Springfield, died at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at Dirksen House.

She was born Oct. 31, 1913, in Buffalo, the daughter of John and Cora Clements Barger.

She married Orlie Leefers in 1940 in St. Charles, Mo., and he died in 1974.

Also preceding her in death were two sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Leefers was a member of the Auburn United Methodist Church, Eastern Star Abraham Lincoln Chapter 959, Daughters of the Nile Abeba Temple 42 and Royal Neighbors of America.

She retired after working 27 years at the University of Illinois.

Surviving are one son, Robert Leefers of Auburn; three grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Ethel Knelms [sic] of Mount Pulaski.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Ellinger-Kunz and Davis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harry Deffley officiating.

Graveside services will be in Mayfield Cemetery, Carlinville, with the Rev. Robert Sabo officiating.
