He was born Jan. 7, 1949, in Memphis Tenn., and received his Associates Degree in drafting from Memphis Vocational Technical School.
Throughout his career he worked in many different areas including plastics fabrication, heavy equipment and tower crane operation, and finally, as a developer / contractor.
He married Cathleen O'Rork in Clarksville, Tenn. in 1985. A member of the Big Timber Hunt Club, he also served as a member of the Kernville/Lincoln Beach/Gleneden Beach Sewer District Board.
He is survived by his wife, Cathleen, of Depoe Bay; daughters, Tamara C., (Randy) Naron of Tennessee, Shana L. (Jim) MacBean of Portland, and Tara (Travis Staten) Thomas of Salem; a brother, Bruce; sisters, Sharon, Jennifer and Molly; grandchildren, Andrew Nathan Trout, Alayna Cathleen MacBean, Chase Edward Bayer and Zona Madison Staten; and one great-grandchild.
Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Jenny Beckendorf; a brother, Rick Beckendorf; and an Aunt, Margaret Beckendorf.
At the family's request, services will be private.
