Survivors include his wife, Laura Osborne Kirk of Radford; daughters, Ashley Kirk of Hampton, Elizabeth Kirk of Bath, N.C., Vittoria Tripp of Richmond; son, Michael Hammond of Radford; 4 grandchildren; brother, Randal J. Kirk; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Steve was a lifelong sports fan, cheering for Virginia Tech, the New York Yankees, and the Green Bay Packers. He also loved weekly golf outings. Steve's charismatic nature served him well in his early career as a radio DJ. With his sharp intellect, he later had many successes as a pharmaceutical researcher and most recently as a real estate investor and manager. Steve's greatest gifts were shown in the unconditional love he had for his family and friends, and through his charming wit and humor.
The family will receive friends from12 until 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. A celebration of life service will begin at 1 p.m. with Dr. Bruce Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.
