Mr. Whitmer was a World War II Army Veteran serving in the 11th Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He worked for the State of Ohio as a State Highway Patrolman, served the Waterville community as a Police Officer and worked security for Chrysler in Perrysburg. He was a 50-year member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio, as well as The American Legion and VFW.
Mr. Whitmer is survived by his children, Jim (Martha) Whitmer, Jean Whitmer, and Jeffrey (Gail) Whitmer, grandchildren, Lauren, Kari, Aimee and Ellie, and great-granddaughter, Shelbie, bother, John and sisters, Barbara and Sandra. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Wanda, and 5 siblings.
