Obituary - Mrs. Julia Ann McMurry, wife of Amos McMurry, died at her home, seven miles south of Burrton on January 4, 1916, after an illness of seven days.
Julia Ann Sims was born in North County, Missouri, March 12, 1848. In 1871 she moved with her parents to Miami County, Kansas, and from there to Rice County, where she resided until her marriage to Amos McMurry on December 6, 1877. To this union were born five children. Mrs. Mabel Consley, Grand Junction, Colorado; Mrs. Zella Belt, Humphrey, Idaho; Ethyl McMurry, Ross McMurry and Mrs. Leota Frentz, Mt. Hope, Kansas, of whom, together with her husband, three brothers survive her.
The funeral services were held at the home at two o'clock Wednesday, January 5, after which she was laid to rest in the Lake Cemetery.
