Marie Haines, 91, formerly of 3709 N. Virginia Ave., died Wednesday in Muncie Health Care Center, where she had lived for several years, after a long illness.
She was born in Muncie, attended city schools and spent her entire life in this area.
Mrs. Haines at one time worked for Ball Brothers (now Ball Corp.) and was manager of the cafeteria at Eugene Field School and at Delta Chi fraternity.
She was a charter member of Riverside Baptist Church; a 50-year memberof Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 104, and a member of Muncie Assembly, 101 Social Order of the Beauceant, and Avondale Sympathy Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Laura Jene Plymale (husband: O.C.), Leesburg, Fla., Pam Conrad (husband: John Conrad), Muncie, and Nancy Beebe (husband: David Beebe), Fishers; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Harry J. Haines, died in 1988. A sister, Lorena Ellis, is also deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Meeks Mortuary. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, north of Muncie. Calling at the mortuary will be 4 to 7 p.m. today or before services Saturday.
