Clara A. (Yoder) Allen, 85, of Avis died Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at her residence after a brief illness.

She was born March 17, 1931, in Williamsport, a daughter of the late Harold and Esther Yoder, Sr.

Clara was married in Williamsport on Oct. 25, 1947, to Frederick A. Allen, Sr. for 61 years. He preceded her in death in 2009.

She was a registered nurse and worked several years for the Lock Haven Hospital.

Clara was a member of the Peoples Church of Farrandsville. She was also a member of the Sons of Italy, 40/8, Castanea Fire Co. and the Avis American Legion.

Surviving are two sons and their wives and a daughter and her husband,
five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister and her husband and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Theresa Eiler.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, with Sharon Weaver certified lay minister officiating. Friends and relatives will be received one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Peoples Church through the funeral chapel.

Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
